NASA released another high-definition image of the Earth.

A satellite orbiting the Earth took six of pictures over an eight hour time span. The images were then combined, creating Blue Marble 2012, a companion to the 'Blue Marble' image NASA released last month.

The image gives a viewer the perspective of viewing the Earth from 7,918 miles above its surface at a viewpoint of 10 degrees south by 45 degrees east, according to NASA.

The original 'Blue Marble' image was taken by Apollo 17 astronauts on their way to the moon. It was taken a a distance of 28,000 miles.
